Kruger Park (KNP)

Numbi Gate, one of the main entry points to one of the largest game reserves in Africa is an easy half hour drive away. Use our Lodge as a base for daily excursions into this world famous Park, or use us it a launching pad for your once-in-a-lifetime safari. The KNP boasts 147 species of large mammals, including the Big Five, and 517 species of birds.

Lowveld Botanical Gardens

Situated between White River and Nelspruit, a visit to the Botanical Garden is a must, and is one of the most popular activities of guests to the Lodge. The Gardens receive so much rainfall that they remain green throughout the year and boast over 2 000 species of plants. The garden also has a huge collection of cycads, the biggest in Africa. Suspended bridges and walkways give you awesome views of the gardens beneath as well as the Crocodile River roaring in the gorge below.


If shopping is your thing there are numerous shopping Malls in both White River and Nelspruit where all manner of goods can be bought. If you are fortunate enough to be traveling with foreign currency you will be astounded at how far your money will go! Genuine African carvings and artifacts are readily available from shops and roadside vendors and you will have no difficulty in finding some wonderful mementos of your trip.

Arts and Crafts Ramble

The Lowveld boasts some of the finest potters, artists, and craftsmen in Southern Africa. Take a trip out to admire and buy yourself something really special to take home.

Such as The Riverside Water Park, Chimp Eden, the Kaapsehoop Wild Horses, golf, tennis and bowls, walking trails, horse riding and scenic drives are all within easy striking distance of the Lodge.

Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s Potholes, Sudwala Caves, historic Pilgrim’s Rest and God’s Window are all world renowned areas of natural beauty and make a wonderful day excursion.

For the more adventurous, Elephant Rides, River Rafting, Abseiling, Quad Biking, Mountain Biking, Microlite flying, Helicopter Flips and hot air ballooning are all on offer at nearby Hazyview.

There are many restaurants and take-away facilities in the White River area to suit all tastes.  Da Loose Mongoose, Magnolia, 64 on Coolmore, Gumtreez, Picassos, Baghdad centre with an array of restaurants, KFC, Spur, café’s etc. We will gladly assist you with recommendations and bookings to suite your taste and budget.
